Admission Requirements at Women’s University in Africa Undergraduate Programs:

• Application form completed via RocApply
• High school certificate
• Proof of English Language knowledge: TOEFL(minimum score 75), IELTS (minimum band score 5.5), CEFR (minimum grade B2) or any other equivalent.
• Passport photographs (scanned)
• International passport or travel document
• Transfer students must submit original copies of their transcripts detailing the courses taken at their previous institution.
• Depending on the program applied for the student must possess at least a ‘C’ in all their required subjects for admission.

NB: Please note that all documents must be notarized by the appropriate body where the certificates were obtained. Masters Programs:

• Application form completed via RocApply
• Bachelor’s certificate or diploma of completed course over a period of at least three years. (certificates must be notarized, authenticated and translated into English by the appropriate body in the country where they were obtained)
• Academic transcripts detailing the courses taken and their grades
• Letter of motivation

• CGPA average of 2.4/4.0

Tuition and Scholarships at Women’s University in Africa

Presidential Scholarship The Zimbabwe government sponsors a scholarship scheme towards both local and broad-based students in Zimbabwe (Presidential Scholarship). The scholarship is open to students in Diploma, Bachelor, Masters, and Ph.D. programs currently enrolled at WUA. The scheme covers the student’s full or partial tuition fees and provides subsidized accommodation within the city. Every year the Government offers 1500+ scholarships to students who excel in their studies. Joshua Nkomo Scholarship The scholarships are available to Zimbabwean citizens under the age of 21 at the time of applying. A-level scholarships are for candidates starting Lower 6th and University scholarships are for candidates entering 1st-year undergraduate studies. 70% of the scholarships will be for Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) studies, whilst 30% is reserved for other disciplines.

Founded in 2002, Women’s University in Africa is a private higher education institution located in the rural setting of the large city of Harare. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education. Women’s University in Africa (WUA) is a coeducational higher education institution. It offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several fields of expertise. Its main campus will be located in Marondera Town, 80km southeast of Harare. The university is currently operating from its Harare campus. The University has campuses in Bulawayo, Mutare, and Marondera. It has also satellite campuses in Malawi and Zambia. It opened its doors with a student body of 145 with a specific mandate to address gender disparity and foster equity in university education. WUA’s vision is to be the best University in Africa in the promotion of gender equity.  Its mission is to provide quality tuition, research, and service to the community to empower mostly female students for leadership and developmental roles. WUA seeks to enhance women’s capacity through the provision of higher education, which enables women to fulfill political, economic, social, and leadership roles. The university currently has three faculties namely: Agricultural Sciences, Management, and Entrepreneurial Sciences and Social and Gender Transformative Sciences. WUA offers a flexible study time table consisting of regular day and evening classes, weekend classes, holiday block releases, and Open Distance. Student Services Offered at Women’s University in Africa WUA provides its learners and staff members a natural environment conducive enough, to cater to the social, spiritual, and physical needs. The services are listed below: Prayer rooms and chaplain at Women’s University in Africa WUA provides Prayer rooms, these provide a quiet place for students to pray and reflect during breaks. A chaplain is also available for students seeking spiritual guidance or just someone to talk to. Note that You do not need to follow a certain faith to speak with a chaplain. Computer labs at Women’s University in Africa Computer labs are a must for completing assignments and research between classes therefore WUA offers secure 24-hour computer labs for those night owls up late finishing assignments with unlimited access to the internet for research and study purposes. Women’s rooms or queer spaces Women’s University in Africa WUA has set aside spaces for women or students of alternative sexual orientations to relax and socialize in an environment free of judgment, harassment, or discrimination. These act as a base for organizing events, demonstrations, and student movements. Student health clinic at Women’s University in Africa WUA has On-campus nurses that provide first-aid treatment and information and referrals on general medical and family planning matters. Students may also be able to make an appointment with a bulk-billing doctor or access dental services at a reduced cost. Disability liaison office at Women’s University in Africa Students with a disability can access support services such as interpreters, note-takers, specialized computer programs, and other equipment. The WUA disability service also acts as a liaison between staff and students to discuss a student’s requirements and arrange alterations to assessments, such as using a scribe or computer in an exam.
